Decatur House is pleased to welcome Michelle Deiana, RN, as our new Resident Care Director. Michelle specializes in hospice care and previously worked at two in-patient hospice centers before joining us.
A Sandwich resident for the past four years, Michelle says she has always admired Decatur House and had always wanted to work here! She says she is drawn to its commitment to allowing residents to remain in place through the end of their lives. “I appreciate that Decatur House avoids unnecessary transitions at such a vulnerable stage,” she explains.
Michelle grew up in Wrentham and later Attleboro. She and her husband live with their two sons, William, 23, and Max, 11, as well as her parents. Family life keeps her busy, especially with Max’s sports schedule. She is especially proud that William now coaches his younger brother’s team. She also enjoys boating and arts and crafts in her free time.
Michelle’s upbringing in a close-knit family, with a mother who was a minister, gave her a strong sense of spirituality that continues to guide her work in hospice nursing. Since joining Decatur House, Michelle has been grateful for the warm welcome she has received from residents, families, and staff.
We are glad to have Michelle on our team and know her skills and compassion will be a great benefit to our community.
