September saw us bid farewell to an all-too-short summer, and ‘hello’ to some crisp fall mornings that called for a sweater.
Music was an important part of nearly every day, beginning with Janice Hannah’s weekly afternoon sing-along, while Jana Ahnquist led residents in a Sunday morning hymn sing.
We enjoyed return appearances by singer-musicians Julie Charland and Mike Dardis, and frequently initiated our own spontaneous sing-alongs.
Monday mornings find Alexander Glore, a talented young pianist and vocalist, leading a pre-luncheon sing-along. A student at Riverview School, Alexander participates in our student intern program.
We enjoyed an interesting live walking tour, via Zoom, of Ireland’s ancient Dublin.
Artist Wendi C. Smith (pictured above with Ginny) helped residents create their very own paintings of a winding beach path, which were later framed for display.
Our own Alex Smith – a nursing and activities assistant –is leading activity programs on Wednesdays and alternate weekends. Alex is especially proficient at crafts and we anticipate many fun and creative projects this fall.
