Decatur House hired Hawk Visual Media to capture the essence of its beautiful assisted living community nestled in the heart of Sandwich Village, by developing videos for use on its website and social media.
This July, the team from Hawk came to DH to meet residents, their visiting family members and staff. They experienced, and captured, the activities, laughter, love and care that goes into a normal day at the House.
It was a steamy summer day and the gardens were a bloom with lilies, hydrangeas and roses. Residents enjoyed a full roster of activities, from chair yoga and a game of hangman in the morning to a visiting musician and painting in the afternoon.
The videographers took footage of all of the activities, as well as interviewed residents and their family members about why they chose Decatur House, and what they loved most about the homey 38-apartment residence.
Excellent food, kind staff and the beautiful house and grounds were common themes that came up time and again in the interviews. According to Pat, “Everyone that comes in here is happy that they chose Decatur House.”
Trish Brown, daughter of Patty said, “Everything is right here at Decatur House. Her doctor comes here. She gets her haircut here. Her nails are taken care of here. She gets beautifully home-cooked meals. We can visit all the time. It’s a godsend for us.”
