From Cathy Ode, our Community Life Director —
Fall is here and cold weather is coming, but we’re warm and cozy here in the house. There’s much to be thankful for!
In October we were treated to our first live music performance in months, watching from inside the dining room and listening through the open windows as Brian Kelly (Ruth’s son) serenaded us from outside.
Our Saturday Music Bingo has been a hit! Most players quickly recognize the songs – each a popular old standard – and search their ‘bingo’ cards for the title. Typically, we cannot resist the urge to sing along!
Absentee ballots allowed everyone who wanted to to cast their vote in the upcoming elections. The Sandwich Town Clerk’s office was very helpful throughout that process.
We’re excited about our first “Family Orientation Session” slated for Nov. 12. Families will be invited to sign up for a virtual meeting, to learn more about life at the House. The theme for the Fall 2020 meeting is “Holidays at the House.” Please stay tuned for more details.
Other planned November activities include pear tasting and exploring history through the eyes of our veterans.
