While our April activities calendar was curtailed a bit in response to the Covid threat, we still managed to enjoy many special moments. For starters, Pastor Greg Hopwood of Christ Chapel, in Centerville, visited to conduct a short, inter-denominational service. He also led the sizeable crowd in an enthusiastic sing-along of popular songs.
Residents will be happy to learn that Pastor Greg will be back on a regular basis, visiting us on the first Thursday of every month.
We also enjoyed a fun appearance by the Easter Bunny, a personable and energetic fellow who visited and posed for photos with every resident! In this photo, he’s pictured with Helen!
Other unique treats included a live concert – via Zoom – by the SoundDunes, a Cape Cod-based swing combo. Evoking memories of the big band era, the music elicited singing and toe-tapping among our enthusiastic residents.
We also enjoyed a return visit by Rick Walsh, a talented singer and keyboardist. Rick’s friendly banter and interaction have made him a real favorite among residents and staff alike.
Kate led a variety of seasonal craft projects, including painting flowerpots and planting spring flower seeds. She has many new craft projects slated for this month, plus Sunday afternoon outings, a walking club and more.
