The month of May saw a continuation of virus-imposed restrictions, but since most of May was rainy and cool, staying inside often seemed like a good idea.
While the rains may have dampened a few spirits, they certainly helped to nourish Linda’s expansive gardens, which already have begun producing an array of colorful blossoms.
We welcomed an additional infusion of color with the arrival of two new resident parakeets, one a creamy shade of pale lime, the other a vivid tropical green.
Residents have continued to connect with friends and family via Zoom and window visits. Additionally, we’ve been enjoying our visit from Ava, a robot loaned to us by our partners at ACD Direct. She has been providing family members, among other things, an opportunity to participate—albeit virtually—in evening sing-alongs!
Of course, we still offer a full slate of activities, including word games, bingo, movies, fitness, trivia and other diversions.
With the nicer weather, we are beginning to enjoy short strolls and small-resident group gatherings on the terrace. Of course, we all look forward to the resumption of outings, once COVID-19 restrictions ease.
In the meantime, residents are enjoying Armchair Travel on the large-screen TV to places like England, Ireland, Italy and Hawaii.
