Despite COVID-19 limitations, we managed to enjoy a diverse and growing slate of activities in June, including golf-putting, beanbag toss, cornhole, and outdoor visits with family. We also celebrated the return of the ice cream truck!
Resident-artist Lourana led an introductory watercolor painting class where, enthusiastic first-time artists were quickly mixing colors and handling the brush with ease. Lourana will continue to offer the art class twice a month.
We continued to enjoy traditional diversions, including the ever-popular bingo, gin rummy, sing-alongs, word games and trivia, movie matinees and classic TV comedy shows.
The contest to name our three resident parakeets boasted a flood of entries from residents, staff, and on-line friends and family. The winning names (from Al’s daughter Liz) were Petey, Sweetie, and Tweety.
Virtual visits also continue and are encouraged via Zoom and FaceTime and with the help of Ava, the robot. (Ava is so enjoying our warm hospitality that she has decided to extend her visit!) Contact [email protected] to schedule virtual visits.
Lunch and dinner menus have expanded to include items cooked to perfection on our outdoor grill. The grilled shrimp and sirloin beef tips have been an especially big hit!
