February is long and dark, so we brightened our days with music, games, books, crafts—and puppies!
Highlights were performances by both Julie Charland and Liz Saunders who managed to get us singing and moving. We welcomed and enjoyed music from Kindred Spirits Trio. And, in honor of Valentines Day, we gathered around the piano while Lourana played love songs for us to sing along to.
We made our own greeting cards and concocted some delicious smoothies. Our first Book Club made for some good discussion. We were able to obtain an audio version of the book for residents who are sight-impaired. March book is News of the World by Paulette Jiles.
The end of the month brought serious cuteness and love as owners Linda and Steve, daughter Sarah, and son Drew each adopted a sibling pug puppy. The 3 baby sisters are adorable and very entertaining. Though they don’t live in the House, they visit daily so there’s lots of opportunities for residents (and families) to get their snuggles in (as Charles is here.)
