January at Decatur House was a month of new beginnings and engaging activities as we stepped into 2025. Here’s a look at all the wonderful moments we shared:
We welcomed 2025 with joyful reflections on the past year, sharing our greatest moments from 2024 and setting inspiring New Year’s resolutions together. It was a heartwarming way to start the year with optimism and gratitude.
We were delighted by wonderful performances from Julie Charland (see photo above) and Richard Amir, filling our home with music. Creativity flourished as Leonie returned for another fantastic painting session, where residents expressed themselves through beautiful artwork. See photos of Anita above!
Residents had a blast in the kitchen with Chef Cynthia, who led a delicious and fun session making grilled fruit—a flavorful and unique treat! They also loved playing the drums during Drum Fit! See photo above.
Our Monday movie tradition continued strong as we enjoyed classic and inspiring films, including An Affair to Remember, The Secret Life of Bees, Green Book, and De-Lovely. Residents also explored captivating documentaries such as My Octopus Teacher and Our Great National Parks, sparking great discussions about nature and exploration.
We took a trip to Marshland Too for a delicious lunch outing, where everyone enjoyed great food and even better company. Meanwhile, Corpus Christi made their regular visit to offer communion to residents who wished to participate. And Susan Lee Nolan also visited, offering calming Reiki sessions that residents thoroughly enjoyed. providing moments of peace and reflection.
As we step into the new year, we look forward to a wonderful 2025!
