Spring has arrived at Decatur House with blustery winds and peeping crocuses.
Residents celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day by making crafts (see photo of Judy) and enjoying the traditional corned beef and cabbage supper.
Musician Rick Walsh’s performance earned rave reviews, as did monthly movie choices: The Blind Side, the Devil Wears Prada and Remember the Titians, which Judy said, “was the best movie I have seen in a long time!”
We added new staff member, Heidi Burchell, as our Weekend Activities Assistant. She’s been busy coming up with some wonderful ideas that we look forward to implementing this month.
Aside from the always favorite Bingo games, dice games and crafting, residents have been taking advantage of the added afternoon group exercise opportunities. They are also enjoying the new “morning mingles” with coffee and donuts.
Additionally, residents who participated in the lunch outing to Town Tavern said that had a wonderful time and loved the food. They were all surprised by the large portion sizes.
Lastly, to celebrate Easter, each resident received an Easter egg filled with candies and Chef Alana prepared a lovely meal. Additionally, Deacon George from Corpus Christi visited to share Communion with residents.
