Brittney Madonna knew that she wanted to be a nurse her whole life. She attended technical high school and took advantage of their co-op program to become a CNA at the early age of 16. From there, she continued her schooling and earned her nursing degree.
Today, with twenty years of expertise working with elderly clients, Decatur House is happy to welcome Brittney as our new Resident Care Director. In the position, she will supervise resident care associates, monitor the emerging health needs of residents, and provide quality assurance through service planning and collaboration with residents and their families.
Brittney joins Decatur House from Atria in Falmouth where she was also the Resident Care Director. She loves the wisdom and the different, valuable perspectives that older adults share. Brittney says, “I especially like that Decatur House is family-owned and that it’s a small home-like environment. It’s what an assisted living should be.”
She is looking forward to getting to know the residents and their families, and becoming more involved as a member of the Sandwich community, where she and her husband have lived since 2021 with their 4 school-age children.
When asked how she defines her leadership style, Brittney’s responded “I believe in leading by example. You are only as strong as your team, and to me being a good team means that everyone is working together for the best possible care of the residents.”
