We gladly bid adieu to January, which departed with a roar that left nearly two feet of snow in its wake after pummeling our town with near-hurricane force winds.
The blizzard had little impact inside Decatur House, however, where residents remained well-nourished, warm and safe.
January’s milder days saw us paint with artist Sandy Taylor, sing along with Julie Charland and relax with massage and Reiki expert Susan Lee Nolan.
Kate directed several craft projects, notably the painting of miniature bud vases, plus creation of Christmas tree ornaments and valentine wreaths.
This month Kate is launching a unique audio book club, featuring a new title each week. Additionally, she has many new crafts and games planned which are sure to pique residents’ interest.
If we need a sure sign that milder weather is approaching, the Red Sox have announced that Feb. 8 will be “Truck Day,” when fans gather outside Fenway Park to cheer the caravan of big rigs that will haul equipment to South Florida in preparation of spring training, set to get underway Feb. 17.
