Ashley has been with Decatur House for about four years. It turns out, she’s basically family: her godmother was owner Linda Austin’s neighbor! When Ashley decided to get some experience while pursuing her nursing education, her godmother said “I know the perfect job for you” …and the rest, as they say, is history.
Prior to coming to Decatur House, Ashley had worked in a law firm and managed a Market Basket grocery store, but she’s truly found her home here. Resident Care Director, Jillian Hunt, admires Ashley’s work ethic and professionalism, saying “she’s honest, reliable, and hard-working.” Ashley says her favorite things about work are the one-on-one nature of assisted living and “the chance to make someone else’s day better.” And her desire to make another person’s day better isn’t just for their benefit; she says “helping someone else makes me happy too.”
Having grown up in Bourne, Ashley is a fan of all things related to the beach, at all times of year.
She loves family movie nights with her daughters, Lillian (age 10) and Eleanor (age 3). She’s a serious sports fan too.
When asked to describe a dream getaway, Ashley immediately says “Tahiti.” From her faraway look, you can tell she’s picturing herself in one of those grass-covered huts on stilts or bobbing in teal-colored water as the soft breezes blow… During these cold New England winters, that’s a dream we can all enjoy!
Ashley’s highly competent care for the residents, combined with her kind heart and upbeat nature, make her a wonderful asset for Decatur House.
