On February 25th, Decatur House held a workshop on how to protect yourself from medicare fraud. Members of the community, family members and residents attended this informative session, led by Senior Medicare Patrol Counselor Debra Clark.
Participants learned fraud prevention best practices (like never carry your medicare card with you unless you are going to doctor or pharmacy and always review your benefits statement for accuracy) as well as how to avoid falling for one of the many medicare scams out there.
Debra provided lots of helpful information and tips, too many to list here. But she left extra packets at the House so if you’d like to learn more let Sarah or Beth know and we can get one to you. You can also visit the Senior Medicare Patrol website or call them at 800-892-0890 with your specific medicare fraud questions.
