Decatur House is located at 176 Main Street in historic Sandwich Village on Cape Cod. We are within walking distance of several attractions including the renowned Daniel Webster Inn, Sandwich Public Library, two churches, a newsstand, coffee shop, museums, gift shops and art galleries. Decatur House is owned and managed by longtime Sandwich residents Linda and Steve Austin.
The mission of Decatur House is to enhance the health and well-being of each resident by providing the highest quality of care. To support and encourage each resident's independence and privacy.
All 13 suites preserve our residents' privacy while providing necessary services. Generous windows with mini blinds allow plenty of light and fresh air. Resident suites include a cozy sitting room, efficiency kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, separate bedroom, ample closets and a large bathroom with shower and many safety features. By adding their own furniture, personal belongings, special treasures, our residents make Decatur House suites their own home.
Decatur House offers the security of 24-hour staffing and a state of the art emergency system. Each resident has an individual service plan that is supervised by our Resident Care Director, a Registered Nurse with more than 30 years of experience. The Director develops our Wellness Programs and supervises the Personal Care Assistants, who are certified Home Health Aides (HHA) or Nurses (LPN RN).
Our experienced Chef has a degree in Culinary Arts, from Boston University. She offers beautifully prepared and presented meals that residents look forward to each day. We cater to special dietary needs ensuring each resident's well being. In fact, excellent food service has become a Decatur House trademark and tradition. Our housekeeping is impeccable. Personal laundry service is scheduled weekly and is included in the resident's service plan. Our services are five star quality.
Decatur House offers several common area sunrooms, traditional living room with a gas log fireplace, formal dining room, garden dining room and a family room with a large-screen television. Our exquisitely landscaped grounds were recently featured on the Sandwich Garden Tour. The grounds have numerous comfortable outdoor seating areas.
